Photovoltaic systems for special requirements
DAS Kraftwerk offers solar systems for special requirements such as:
- Monument protection
- PV facades
- Buildings with low load-bearing capacity
- Wind turbines
- Greenhouses
- special projects such as the 'Smart Home for Bees' research project at the Institute of Zoology at the University of Innsbruck
DAS Kraftwerk offers innovative photovoltaic solutions that serve a wide variety of building types. These include PV façades that transform building exteriors into aesthetic energy sources, tailor-made solutions for listed buildings that preserve historical integrity, and systems for buildings with low load-bearing capacity that impress with their lightweight, efficient technologies.
These approaches show how DAS Kraftwerk combines sustainable energy with sophisticated architecture, creating new opportunities for environmentally friendly energy use in a wide variety of building situations.
Lightweight & flexible photovoltaic modules
For roofs with low load-bearing capacity
For PV installations on industrial and commercial buildings (PVC flat roof waterproofing, bitumen roofing membranes, metal roof systems, glass surfaces), the lightweight and flexible DAS Energy photovoltaic modules do not require a substructure or any additional fastening material. The modules can be bonded directly to the surface of the building. This approach significantly reduces the installation time. In addition, no damage is caused by holes in the roof surface, as it remains unaffected. Due to their low weight (between 4 and 8 kg), DAS Energy photovoltaic modules are also suitable for roofs and façades with difficult structural or physical conditions or with a low load-bearing capacity.
Installation
- without substructure
- without additional ballast
- Reduced installation time

Integrated PV solutions for metal surfaces and standing seam roofs
Weight can play a major role in metal building envelopes and façades, especially standing seam roofs. The lightweight DAS Energy PV modules are designed so that they can be integrated into any aluminum roof and façade system. They are installed by bonding them directly to the metal surface. Also for Kalzip roofs retrofittable.
PV façades with DAS Energy photovoltaic modules
DAS Energy photovoltaic modules offer an innovative solution for installation on various surfaces such as metal systems and glass façades. The modules are particularly lightweight and flexible, allowing them to be bonded directly to the building surface without the need for a substructure or additional fixing materials. This straightforward installation significantly reduces the time required and minimizes potential damage as no holes are required in the surface.
Thanks to their low weight (between 4 and 8 kg), DAS Energy photovoltaic modules are also ideal for façades that have difficult structural or physical requirements or a low load-bearing capacity. The modules can also be fitted with a substructure, for example a junction box on the back if required.
Advantages:
- Direct bonding: No substructure required, reduces installation time and effort.
- Flexibility: The modules can be bonded directly to various surfaces such as metal systems and glass.
Low weight: Ideal for façades with limited load-bearing capacity (between 4 and 8 kg per module). - Aesthetics: Ultra-thin, black PV modules for modern, unobtrusive façade integration.
- Damage-free installation: No holes or damage to the surface of the building.
- Optional substructure: If required, substructures can also be used, e.g. for a rear junction box.
- Versatility: Suitable for facades with difficult structural or physical requirements.

Photovoltaic modules for listed buildings
- does not affect the appearance of the monument by its appearance or weight
- does not interfere with the fabric of the listed building
- blends seamlessly into the tile covering or roof environment in terms of color and structure
- does not require any intervention in the existing structure by means of fastening aids (no substructure)
- offers cable routing that runs invisibly in the roof structure
